Celebrating canals and community action

Edinburgh Labour leader Cllr Andrew Burns has been out and about in the past couple of weeks. He managed to find a rare sunny moment at the Edinburgh Canal Festival and Raft Race to grab this photo.

Cllr Gordon Munro sailed in to the sound of the pipes to open the event, and a large number of participants turned out for both the raft races and the rest of the festival.

A few days later, Andrew went along to Bridgend Growing Communities to find out more about their organic community garden and allotment project, an accessible hub for people of all abilities to gain the skills and confidence to grow healthy food for themselves. He managed to get lunch out of it too - all grown on the premises.
