Digging in together

On Sunday, Edinburgh Labour Leader Councillor Andrew Burns got stuck in with two community groups working to improve the city.

In the morning he joined other volunteers including our local organiser Hannah Lister at the Friends of Craiglockhart Woods and Nature Trail clean-up event, helping to keep this well-used amenity in good condition.

Later he and many other volunteers from the Shandon Local Food Group and other local organisations joined in at the Royal Edinburgh Community Garden drop-in.

The RECG is a fantastic community initiative giving people the opportunity to grow their own food and improve their health.
